Ms. Gulia was my harp teacher in the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory from 2012 to 2016, which were very important years in my growth as a harpist. She instilled the discipline of good sound and ensured firm technical foundations right from the start of the programme, which are necessary tools for a professional harp career. Needless to say, she is a brilliant orchestral musician and her guidance has helped me become a confident musician in the orchestral setting as well. Most importantly, she encouraged me to dream big and recommended me to overseas music festivals (e.g. Aspen Music Festival, Bowdoin Music Festival) as well as conservatories (e.g. Manhattan School of Music, Universität der Künste), which have greatly shaped the professional life that I enjoy today.

A nurturing teacher at heart, Ms Gulia has always looked out for opportunities for me to grow as a harpist, be it performances, masterclasses or festivals. Her guidance on good and relaxed technique, wealth of experience as a solo and orchestral harpist helped me tremendously in navigating vastly different works for the harp and developed my sound greatly. It was truly a blessing to be able to study at YST under her tutelage.
